Serious Games – Developing Emotional Competence for Nursing Students

The project “Serious Games – Developing Emotional Competence for Nursing Students” (SG4NS) pretends to develop an Emotional Intelligence educational program (course format) incorporated into the European Nursing curricula for undergraduate nursing students.

It integrates two major dimensions of today’s active and dynamic teaching-learning process and transversal skills development. In a digital era, it is fundamental to bring new approaches to this process and a part of them is emerging in the field of simulated practice and specifically on the format of serious games. Simultaneously, students today are more digitally open and gifted but at the same time with more difficulties in developing and manage their emotional intelligence competencies. The serious games (SG) interface will create a virtual clinic learning environment, add a new dimension to pedagogy and affords unique methods and conditions for instruction that are not easily replicated with more traditional educational modalities.

The SG4NS is a Strategic Partnership of six European Higher Education Institutions in the framework of the Erasmus+ program (Project Nº 2020-1-PT01-KA203-078847).
